this is just a tribute.
My memories of the Mars bar prevent me from thinking that any other candy bar could lay claim to being the greatest candy bar that has ever been. The problem is that I took it for granted. Before I knew it, the Mars bar had been taken from me…
in devestation, i moped around for a couple years searching for a worthwhile replacement. peanut candy bars like baby ruth, payday, and snickers are tasty, but nothing could satisfy my extreme longing for the precious almond-milk-chocolate-caramel-nougat bar.
then there was snickers with almonds. i first saw them in a grocery checkout lane. my eyes almost teared up as i tried to suppress the intense emotion i was feeling at rediscovering the love of my life. sure, it was packaged differently, even a name change — but a couple years can make anything look a little different. memories began to flood back as i took my first bite. my life seemed to have new meaning…
that was a couple years ago. this morning, i spent a whole 5 minutes enjoying a Snickers Almond bar. i savored it. and i felt the need to tell the whole world how much it meant to me.
if a candy bar has changed your life, you must make it known.
Check out a history of mars at wikipedia:

Apparently Mars with almonds is still available in other parts of the world.
