Very, very interesting article.
“Or, Gruber continues, it could be that those ‘with more faith may be less stressed out about daily problems that impede success in the labor market and the marriage market, and are therefore more successful.’”
I wonder if that means, in a way, that they care less about financial gain and therefore are more successful financially? Whether it points to that or not, I like to think that way–one of the great paradoxes of pursuing God, the “dying to live” principle. Therefore, under God’s justice, those who become involed in religion with the most microscopic intention of receiving financial gain from it, or any selfishly ambitious gain from it for that matter, will fail! Hah! That’s why a bloke like Simon the Sorcerer got his ass capped. Figuratively.
I must say, personally, I am so sick of Christians who defend a love of money. I hear all the time, “remember that the Bible says the LOVE of money is evil, not money itself.” That’s just a very revealing way for that person to say, “I love money.” Give me a break. Jesus was not a capitalist.
