but Leo...do your numbers work? If Adam was born in year 1, and lived 930 years...wouldn't he have died in year 931? I'm not looking at the origional numbers right now, but I think you did that for all of them.

yeah, your numbers are wrong. look at Seth, you have him as living 807 years but the verse says:
"When Seth had lived 105 years, he became the father [b] of Enosh. 7 And after he became the father of Enosh, Seth lived 807 years and had other sons and daughters. 8 Altogether, Seth lived 912 years, and then he died."

So he lived 807 years AFTER having Enosh for a total of 912 years.

and so on and so forth.

Chosen One my booty.

jimmah...yeah, i copied down the wrong number for total lifespan on seth, enosh, and kenan (which doesn't effect the end numbers around the flood anyway since the numbers that combine to find those dates are just the time between birth and giving birth). i updated those numbers in my file. what are the problems now?

the only place you two seem to disagree on is when Noah was born.

Gen 5:28-31
28 When Lamech had lived 182 years, he had a son. 29 He named him Noah and said, "He will comfort us in the labor and painful toil of our hands caused by the ground the LORD has cursed." 30 After Noah was born, Lamech lived 595 years and had other sons and daughters. 31 Altogether, Lamech lived 777 years, and then he died.
NIV

Since Lamech was born in 874 (agreed by both) noah would be born 182 years after Lamech or in 1056.

Then the flood occured 600 years later (Gen 9:28-29), or in 1656.

James, how did you get 1039 for Noah's date of birth?
