THANKS

James, Drew, Jeff, everybody, lots of thanks for all of you giving so much attention to my conundrum. Each answer was insightful in its own way. And I like VIFL more now ;)
I think my answer, at the moment (it could change, I don’t know) is to SUGGEST nudity (shoulder, back, etc.) without showing anything; which, I believe, can be provocative as well, and therefore a lot of it will be the way I shoot the scene. As for the question, “should you, Jacob, be seeing breasts, even if they’re not in the movie?” I guess that’s an individual question that can only be answered by me, unless there’s someone else who knows me so well (i.e. God) to tell me otherwise. So God is my Judge. (ohhh yeaahh, you go Daniel Myers)

And as for a final question… Should my motion picture include… THE SIDE BOOB?

WWPGD? (Peter Griffin)

I’m pretty sure Peter Griffin would run circles around the girl in attempts to see the full boob.

You know, Bathsheba probably didn’t shave her legs or underarms. You might mention this to Miss Takes-her-clothes-off-at-the-drop-on-an-artistic-hat.

    “Miss Takes-her-clothes-off-at-the-drop-on-an-artistic-hat.”
    HA!
    owned by irony.

    LOL!

I thought of another thing. I realize you’re using white people to portray this, but how culturally relevant are you going to try to be? To the North American male’s mind, the breast is the focal point of the woman’s body in regards to sexuality. This may not have been true of the ancient Jewish male. If you would like, I could talk to a professor who is doing his dissertation on Song of Solomon.

Sure, that would be interesting to know, though I’m not really sure if it would make a big difference with the way I film it…

  13. 13 Daniel Jan 15th, 2006 at 12:54 am

Yes it would. If you wanted to be accurate. That’s what this film is about. The truth dangit!

  14. 14 James Jan 15th, 2006 at 3:38 pm

who said that his movie was about the truth? Maybe it’s about him improving his art.

Never try to disagree or dispute me James!

nobody would relate a lustful momement like David had with an ankle. I’m sorry if it were super accurate ppl wouldn’t get it. Jacob should shoot a movie that portrays the scene and emotions true to what would move todays audience. He won’t be showing this to Herod the Great.

I agree with the man from the south. Though I don’t know what I’m agreeing with. When it comes to factual things, he is usually a good person to agree with. The people from the south have funny accents.
