i’m shopping for a new cell phone. i’m going with cingular. i’ll be making the switch from sprint within the next week, and am trying to find the perfect cell phone.
i’ve already talked to daniel about his sony ericsson 2520a. and i know that wirefly and tigerdirect have the black razr available for free (after rebates, of course.)
i also know that drew and jimmy both have this phone.
so, men, tell me about this phone. do you reccomend it? pros? cons?

um…it is kinda flimsy if you drop it so don’t do that. But other than that I freakin love my Razr phone.
the rebate thing however is a bit iffy. the rebate that Drew and I got required “180 days of instance free service” which basically meant that I had to pay my phone bills on time for 180 days…I missed by 2 days once and can’t use my rebate. So my free phone actually cost me like $200. But I’d still pay $200 for it.
I think the razr is okay. It is flippin’ thin, which is going to make it difficult if I ever have to get a different phone. The bluetooth is cool.
I read some reviews for it that said it’s more for looks than function. I don’t know what they want their phone to do, because mine does plenty for me.
The phone comes with about 4 ringtones, so you can either buy them for $2 each or get a sync cable and CD online (under $15 if you’re lucky) and load your own mp3’s on it as ringtones.
My phone did break for no reason (wouldn’t turn on). They sent me a new one in 3 days, but it was refurbished and gets dirt under the screen.
I would recommend you buy from Tiger Direct. They have a lot more phones — some of them you can even make money on. Be sure to get the plan you want, though. They start you off with 900 minutes for $60/mo. You can get a smaller plan and still get your rebates.
