Hey.
I want to upgrade the memory and video card on my work desktop. It’s a Dell with a Pentium 4 2.0ghz with 256mb and a 40gb hard drive. (REALLY slow)
TigerDirect has this on sale. Is it any good, and can I switch it easily by myself?
What about a video card? Any suggestions? (If all goes well, I will want to make this a dedicated PowerPoint/Media computer for the youth room.)
Do I need to throw in a bigger hard drive?
So I discovered a new thing that I enjoy. Singer named Josiah Leming. If you watch American Idol you might know who he is. He made it to the Hollywood week this year but was cut, but I found his voice interesting (as in, probably the only American Idol contestant I would ever see myself buying an album by) so I checked him out. Dude has got some talent.
If you like bands like Coldplay you’d probably really enjoy this kids music. Check out his myspace page. www.myspace.com/josiahleming
He’s got some other songs in poor quality up on YouTube.

What really sold me on him was comparing his version of “Grace Kelly” that he did on American Idol to the original version. That made me realize he definitely has some musical talent.

i stumbled across this the other day:
the bigger ones have dual stone fireplaces. and those big windows are pretty cool. it’s not as outdoorsy as camping, but it might be a different flavor of float trip if we stayed the night here.
it’s further south in MO. here’s the site.
Alright boyaz, here it is. I went ahead and converted all files to .mp3 format.

I’ve been toying around with the idea of making seasonal Vifl Mixes - spring, summer, etc etc. I don’t like the idea of burning them and mailing them out and charging everyone a dollar or something. SO, from now on, I think I’ll just upload them to a server and make them available for download (and free cover art, too!) for free.
I’m getting on this a little late, so I’ll be starting work on the winter mix today, and will hopefully have it all finished and ready over the weekend.
Whatchoo guys think?

i’ve been working at the library the past few weeks. there are these communal tables…some things i’ve observed:
- a startling number of people talk to themselves
- it’s not rare to see people ripping the dvds you can rent for a buck. one asian dude ripped dvds the entire time i was there one day…so, like 6 or 7 hours. he just had them piled up beside his laptop.
- there are some that never learned about the quiet rule. people are playing games beside me with the sound on full blast.
- there’s always a college student who gets all their crap spread out on the table, only to go to sleep on his book for several hours. at least one of these at my table per day.

Romans 1:16-17 (ESV)
For I am not ashamed of the gospel, for it is the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes, to the Jew first and also to the Greek. For in it the righteousness of God is revealed from faith for faith, as it is written, “The righteous shall live by faith.”
I got 2 Creative mp3 players for youth group prizes.

About the time our original thirteen state adopted their new constitution in 1787, Alexander Tyler, a Scottish history professor at
the University of Edinburgh, had this to say about the fall of the Athenian Republic some 2,000 years earlier:
“A democracy is always temporary in nature; it simply cannot exist as a permanent form of government.”
“A democracy will continue to exist up until the time that voters discover they can vote themselves generous gifts from the public
treasury.”
“From that moment on, the majority always vote for the candidates who promise the most benefits from the public treasury, with the result that every democracy will finally collapse due to loose fiscal policy, which is always followed by a dictatorship.”
“The average age of the world’s greatest civilizations from the beginning of history, has been about 200 years.”
“During those 200 years, those nations always progressed through the following sequence:
1. from bondage to spiritual faith;
2. from spiritual faith to great courage;
3. from courage to liberty;
4. from liberty to abundance;
5. from abundance to complacency;
6. from complacency to apathy;
7. from apathy to dependence;
8. From dependence back into bondage”
