Ok….I’ll just start with the planning, then the dissension can begin. This is my proposal:
Getting people to Harrison Arkansas for a Saturday, August 23 morning boating departure…
1. People can either drive down Saturday morning - pretty early….it’s probably about a 4 hr. drive from Washington.
2. People can drive to Mountain View Friday night. It’s a few minutes longer drive to Mountain View, then we could head over to Harrison in the morning….
So, we’ll float Saturday, camp on the river, then float a bit more Sunday.
Then, people can either drive back on Sunday afternoon/evening or head back to mountain view and drive back Monday.
So, reply to this post with ideas and who’s coming. I’ll be locating the “outfitter” to get the canoes soon.
So, just because you put up the first post, you think you can make the trip 5 minutes from your house?
What about white water rafting on the Ocoee River in Tennessee?
oh shut it…it’s like 2x the drive people normally do. plus, less for jon, me, and possibly you.
’sides…there’s always next year…and I’d be down with going to a different place every year.
Sorry Drew, you gotta speak up sooner if you want to get in on the planning. I’d say for all the effort Leo has put forth in the past on this float trip he deserves to pick an easily accessible spot for himself.

I agree with Ryan. NO women…and I can maybe let you know about me in a month. I don’t know yet. Lot’s going on with whether I’ll be in the country or not. Brandon wants to come again though, regardless if he’s allowed. Ryan! I’m gonna call you soon. I wanna hang out, we’re getting old. Also…am I gonna have some guy say to me on the river, “Boy, you sure got a pretty mouth.” If so, I wanna cut my face up before coming down.

I talked to a friend of mine in KC this week that’s floated and camped on this river and he said it is well worth the drive. I also drove by all the river rental companies a few days ago…was hoppin…I’m excited.
Also, where you float is between harrison and mountain view - so, it sounds like driving to mountain view first would be a good idea.
