Don’t be a tool! CARPOOL!

1. So, how are we dividing the carpooling up for those of us who will be doing so? I think we may be able to use just two vehicles.
2. When and where are we leaving from when we do said carpool?
3. Who, when, and where are all questions concerning the idea of buying the group supplies and sustenance…answer it.

I’m getting into town tomorrow (wednesday).

Daniel, your house is tradition…and I’m feelin’ it.

We could do the Friday night trip to Wally World to get foods. (I actually have plans Friday night, so I won’t be able to get to Daniel’s until about 1AM…but, I could go earlier in the day.)

What are the biggest vehicles we’ve got to work with? Ryan and Jimmah?

Anyone have a small trailer we could hook to somebody’s car and throw all the gear?

I’m good with it..btw, me and B-ham were thinking of going to see Tropic Thunder that night as well. Who wants to join? It is rated R..mainly for language, violence, and a bit of course joking(A lot). It’s pretty funny. My parents agreed with staying and leaving from their house as usual. So, just let me know.

I have a dart banquet that night but it should end early. last year I showed up late and everybody was sleeping. I live like maybe 1 mile away so I’ll just meet you guys there. I was planning on taking my vehicle. It’s a tahoe. I have a bunch of tv’s in it so bring some movies you want to watch. I can seat 4 plus me and some gear. I’d be willing to pull a trailer but I don’t have one and my buddies only have car haulers. I think we might want something enclosed for our stuff. I”m sure there will be some phone calls to organize stuff. I suggest all you guys who plan on crashing at daniel’s house go to walmart together. I’d be happy to go with you guys around 10 or so but don’t know when you guys want to get all the stuff. I vote no community drinks. buy your own water soda etc. we should all just chip in on cheap hot dogs and buns and maybe a thing of burgers. Don’t bring cheese and tomatos etc unless you want to pay for em. Lets keep the community paymets low. I bbq for our big car shows and we can feed about 50 plus ppl on less than 40 bucks. (That included drinks.) I think if at least 4 or so guys are together buying stuff etc we can all call someone and get the finer details. I believe the VIFL always flys a little buy the seat of our pants.

oh and just speaking for me and whoever else happens to take everyone down there. CHIP IN ON GAS. last year I took everybody but leo and jon. only jimmy gave me some gas money. Lets all chip in ok? It’ll prolly cost me about 60 bucks to haul you guys down there. I’ll prolly take most if not all the cargo as well.

Gotta be honest…I don’t want my car going. That thing has been on LOTS of road trips over the 1 and a half years I’ve had it and it’s already on nearly 90,000 miles. I know that doesn’t sound like alot but that’s over 45,000 miles a year…that’s a ton…and I still drive a ton in it and I basically need to start saving my miles as much as I can or that car is going to die and I’ll still owe 10 grand.

So…anyone else got a car we can take?

I planned on coming to sleep at Daniels…but I probably won’t be there until around midnight or so.

As to the community drinks, I think we should at least get the bottled water that we normally get (maybe get gallon jugs and everyone bring their own water container) as that is something that is cheap and necessary.

    Who’s got coolers?

  10. 10 ryan gelinas Aug 20th, 2008 at 2:45 pm

I am bringing a cooler. Unicef gives out free water. I’ll chip in on food.

  11. 11 leo Aug 21st, 2008 at 9:39 am

    i can bring a cooler.

Also, i could drive my car, but last year it really only held 2 people and their stuff… it’s wee.

Things I’m bringing for community use:

2 lighters (the long ones for lighting fires, not disposable ones)
    4 flashlights
1-2 extra air mattresses. I have at least 2 but Ben and I have dibs on them. Any extra I have (I honestly don’t know, I just grabbed a pile from Laurens house) are up for use.
1 pack of black trash bags
a few 10-gallon ziplock bags. These things will fit clothing, pillows, blankets, etc. I would like to have these back at the end as they are reusable.
1 package of normal ziplock bags.
    Off bug spray
6 Off candles to spread around the campsite
2 pocket knives, 1 hunting knife and a machete. The machete can be used to chop wood…but it’ll get destroyed if we do so it would be insanely awesome if someone would locate a hatchet for firewood.
two plastic tubs for putting things in. These things aren’t perfectly waterproof but they’ll at least keep things together and floating if the canoe tips. One of them will be full of my stuff, the other will be completely empty and open for use.
1 gallon of Red Diamond Sweet Tea for consumption at dinner…cause no fire-cooked food is correct unless it’s consumed with Red Diamond.
    40 styrofoam plates
a 4-person tent. I do not own this tent, it came with nothing to pack it in so it’s sitting in a cardboard box and it’s entirely possible it may leak…so if we don’t need to use it that would be awesome but if we need it we have access to it. It’s also pretty old so it’s not compact at all.
A partially used First Aid Kit

Umm…that’s all I can remember off the top of my head.

  13. 13 ryan gelinas Aug 21st, 2008 at 2:52 pm

    I will have:
    axe
    bb gun
    4 person tent
    toilet paper

can somebody scare up some rope and possibly a foxhole shovel??

  14. 14 leo Aug 21st, 2008 at 3:54 pm

    I’m bringing:

    4 person tent
    cooler
farmer’s tan (also includes 1 (one) hairy shoulder)

  15. 15 Daniel Myers Aug 21st, 2008 at 3:55 pm

I’ll bring me. Possibly other awesome things…I’ll look tomorrow. Or tonight. I can probably bring some lawn chair things.

  16. 16 leo Aug 21st, 2008 at 6:33 pm

    I’m bringing 2 chairs

  17. 17 ryan gelinas Aug 21st, 2008 at 10:50 pm

  18. 18 Jacob Aug 22nd, 2008 at 8:39 am

    I’m bringing the American Spirit.

  19. 19 James Wright Aug 22nd, 2008 at 8:40 am

Leo, call Jacob before you call the place again, he mentioned that if we got one more he might want a kayak too. If he doesn’t then I will be fine with not having a kayak if I have to.
