Maybe I've not experienced higher-end PC computers, but in my mind the quality and robust feeling of a MBP is worth the extra dough. I mean, the new one is "carved" from a solid block of aluminum... I'm probably going to get a new one later this year - mine is 3 years old and works great still - Rachel will inherit it to replace her 5 or 6 year old ibook. Mac has done an excellent job of integrating themselves into the main stream as far as software interfacing goes. I built a mac that I'd want on the apple store and it was like 4 grand. When I was contemplating a new notebook purchase, I pined after the Mac. The problem was that the basic one was $1100 new or $950 refurb. I could get a $500 pc that would do all I would ever need and be equally reliable in terms of quality. I’m with Ryan on this one.
