Some of you may find this interesting, and some of you may really not…
…but I’m editing a video right now that I’m actually somewhat interested in. It’s a short video about the first wind turbine built on a mountain in North America (It was constructed at the Jiminy Peak Mountain Resort in Massachusetts). I’ve been sorting through 15 or 16 hours of footage to put together a 7 to 10 minute piece that follows the planning and construction of the turbine. The video’s going to premiere at the ribbon-cutting a week from tomorrow (August 15th) in Massachusetts. …which may mean that I should be…working on it…instead of typing about it??
Here’s an article with pictures:

Yesterday I bowed out of the new Deepthought Design. I’m going to hang around until we finish all of the current projects and then I’m going to be working like 20hrs a week at web/graphic stuff and spending the rest of my time getting my furniture off the ground.
wish me luck.

So I loves me some Firefox…just saying.
been finding neat Add-Ons today including one that I thought some of you might find handy.
go here:
http://www.codinghorror.com/blog/archives/000780.html
two Add-Ons that let you view HTML/CSS/Javascript of webpages in real time (and even edit them…go ahead…go turn Googles background blue if you want to).
very cool.
I recommend also getting “Fullerscreen”…it’s a Firefox Add-On that makes Firefox take up your entire screen…pretty good if you like to use all available space you can (change tabs with CTRL+Page Up/Down)

never fails…every website deepthought launches requires an all-nighter on the eve of launch. and it’s always scurrying to get SOMETHING up…with the thought that we’ll patch it up later….so, last night was one…and this morning we have: http://www.vintagelawrence.com
The site’s got some subtle coolties….likeĀ the darkened four corners of the browser over the background…if you have ie6 you won’t see em.

I was going to claim the next panel in the worm…but I’ve got some learning to do on this whole image making thing so I don’t want the next panel yet.

I just discovered with Firefox that if you have multiple tabs open and you go to Tools –> Options –> General Tab…when you assign your home page it will assign all open tabs…that means when you open up Firefox it will open all those tabs to all those pages.
that is freakin awesome.
Now my Firefox opens up to my company email, my gmail, my personal email, digg.com and woot.com
Firefox is the best invention ever.

Check out this wooden iPod, crafted by ZapWizard from Austin, TX. He made an exact replica of the 4th genereation iPod faceplate, click wheel and select button out of African Padauk wood, using nothing but a dremel. Quite amazing, if I do say so myself.

A college class has apparently gone back and reworked and improved upon the legendary Microsoft Paint. The program is actually pretty impressive and can be downloaded here.

perty neato design there, leo. i like it. looks good. but if you have a lot of books stacked up, and you want the one on the very bottom, wouldn’t that be a little…awkward…getting it? just a thought. but it’s very cool, very cool.
one week of finals….then i’m out…. see you guys after then.
