Visiting the motherland

So I’ll be in the USA, mostly in the Missouri area, July 30th-August 17th. The second week in August is my best week to just chill and catch up with some of you if you have time/would like to. So let me know what is going on in ya’lls life. I wouldn’t mind driving a little too. :-)

Online Reunion of sorts

So here’s the deal: I’ve noticed that I live in Mississippi and nobody else in VIFL does. This makes it a little harder to know what is going on with everybody. All of these marriages and job changes are happening too fast to keep up with.

I propose that everybody gives a personal update on life including, but not limited to significant others, offspring, employment, hobbies, current vehicle, church affiliation, etc. Highlights from the last year and goals/ambitions for the next should also be included. Pictures will earn bonus points.

Furthermore, I suggest that we proceed in alphabetical order by last name. If I can spell correctly, that mean that I have put the ball in Ryan’s court.

And, go…

Homecoming

After 6 years away, I’m coming back, and I’m bringing my wife with me. We’ll be living in Washington for the summer in my parents’ basement. I’m really looking forward to being in closer proximity to most (or some?) of you. We’re setting sail Saturday morning, so if you’d like to help us move Saturday evening and maybe a little on Sunday, we’d be greatly appreciative. My cell phone number is the same!

jacob’s bachelor party of sorts…

The Caveman BBQ went out of business (a real shocker), but it’s been remodeled and reopens on the 27th. We’re taking Jacob there and you should come! You don’t want to miss this! One week from tomorrow!

Plus, it seems Randy might show up.

obama will mess you up.

this obama action figure comes with a wide variety of weapons.

Obama Samuari
Obama Jedi
Obama with automatic assualt rifle
Obama pulling a gun
Obama economic stimulus package. Bang sucka!

Trip

Hey, we should all try to plan a trip to take in a couple years. I’m talking about a real one. Like that we will take our families on too. Not our whole family, but like wife and children. Go somewhere further away. It would take a bit of planning and probably a bit of saving for the money part. We could all try to factor in ideas of where to go and what to do. We can carpool when it is applicable. If this seems too big of a goal, then let me know. I’ll just try to go with people that think it’s feasible. Hehe. I really like Vancouver Canada. Massachusetts is a nice place too. how about a trip to the Grand Canyon or some time up in Colorado? I dunno…ideas? I’d even go for over seas but I think that would be too expensive for those of you who have a family. Let me know!

Also, keep Mexico in your prayers. Swine flu is taking out the people.

putting blake lewis to shame

this kid has some mad beat box skillz…

The hour glass

As time passes I notice a lot of changes in the exterior world and in the situations of my own life. Since this started, presumably back in 2002, we have been through and encountered a number of events in our lives. Some of them have been life changing on a grand scale and other events have simply been small changes that add up to things that change our environment around us and therefore also life changing. In this ever changing world and in our ever growing psyche there are some things that remain constant, at least in my life. We all have a bond that, for whatever reason, has remained between all of us. I am not saying it is a bond that draws us near and makes us weep at our distances from each other, but a bond that is deep within…a bond of loyalty and brotherhood. We are a very eclectic group of people. We have artists, computer programmers, preachers, students, and businessmen. When you look at our aesthetic appearances and our outward impact on this world it is hard to see what we have in common. What do we have in common? Honestly….I dunno if we really do have a lot in common or not. That is what is so amazing about this group. We do not base our relationship on these differences, but on our brotherhood that we somehow created. Through jobs, marriages, children, happiness, pain, success, failure, and distance we have survived as comrades. I am very happy to be a part of this group. A group that, I believe, would fight for its members when necessary. Will support itself through almost any situation. That though distance prevents direct contact and a daily visual reminder of this bond, we still impact each other daily because of the changes in our individual lives. I live in Mexico now and will probably be moving to Asia within a year and a half. I do not know how much longer I will be able to actually see many of you in person. Yet, as the years go by and even in death I pray that we are united. WE are united as men. I hope that we are united in the common denominator of Christ so that we may remain brothers once this life is over. I love all of you, even the few that I rarely saw/see. Life is good and I am glad to have had the opportunity to spend it with many of you. I hope to spend more time here on earth as the years go by with some of you. So why did I write this? Because I wanted to affirm all of you in your lives. Keep living and strive to be great men of God. As I make mistakes and realize how far I am from being a great man of God it inspires me to try and inspire others to grow greater in Christ as well. We are/can change the world for the better….and I think we can do it much more effectively if we do it together.

your application to be AIG’s new CEO.

Denied.

just want to be able to copy+paste this image in the future, and as a bonus, made a reference to pop culture. but why stop there… what other things could this stamp be used for?

keywords: denied, stamp, leo’s furniture idea, jon’s taste in music, buffalo chicken fingers are yummy, cilantro is too.

Shower

Hey guys,

You should all have got an invite from a friend of Lauren and myself named Christopher Vitale.  He is throwing us a shower on the 5th of April.  I think everyone got an invite through email, if you didn’t, let me know.

If you thought it was spam, it wasn’t.  It should have been a link to an e-vite event.

eXus Reunion

I talked to Randy on the phone this week, because he was pushing some php code around for a project I was finishing up.  Turns out, he’s going to be in town in May - we thought it’d be neat to have an eXus Reunion… maybe just a dinner or something.  Discuss!
